The nominations process for the 15th annual GAR Awards is underway and we’re delighted to highlight the shortlist for the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations Award for Sustainable Behaviour:
The awards ceremony will take place in Paris on 10 April as part of Paris Arbitration Week
2025 Nominations
Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA) for the launch of the ACICA Sustainability Protocol: Towards More Sustainable Arbitral Proceedings to encourage parties and tribunals in arbitral proceedings to commit to resolving disputes in a more environmentally sustainable manner.

The AAA/ICDR and the North America Committee of the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations which jointly organized in 2024 several green roundtables with hundreds of arbitrators all over the United States to promote efficiency and greener practices in arbitration through technology.

The Belgian Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (CEPANI) for establishing a Greener Arbitration Pledge specific to cases at the institution, while publishing draft sustainability commitments for inclusion in arbitrators’ terms of reference and procedural orders.

The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University (NY, USA) and the North America Committee of the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations launch a writing competition to encourage and recognize legal scholarship related to reducing the environmental impact of international arbitration and promoting more sustainable arbitration practices. The competition is already supported by more than 10 arbitral institutions and organizations.

The Institutions Task Force of the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations for the publication of its Report on The Green Survey: Arbitration Institutions in Focus which serves as a crucial step towards achieving the goal of identifying the challenges and roadblocks faced by arbitration institutions in their journey towards sustainability.
